Uncovering the Markets of Stone Town

Explore the heart of Stone Town, the oldest part of Zanzibar City that has many old coral stone buildings, mosques, and markets. Make sure to not miss the House of Wonders, Old Fort, and the birthplace of Freddie Mercury for your taste of culture and history.

Join a guided tour to the spice plantation to see, smell, and taste cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. It is a great way to learn about the island’s agriculture history and why they call it “Spice Island.”

If you love the underwater world, the clear water enclosing Zanzibar’s coral reefs is an oasis for tourism. You can venture to places like Mnemba Atoll and Pemba Island where it hosts various species like tropical fish, dolphins, and even sea turtles.

Put your feet up and relax on the simple public beaches of Nungwi, Kendwa, or Paje, where soft white sand is complemented by the warm ocean water. Perfect for swimming, soaking up the sun, or relaxing with a delicious coconut under a palm tree.

Go to Kizimkazi and rent a boat to swim with dolphins which are said to be the friendliest creatures in the ocean. Although this experience is undeniable it’s also important to question the impact of diving with other living beings.
