FAQ
What kinds of birds can I view in this safari?
Tanzania is home to over 500 bird species, ranging from pelicans, flamingos, lilac-breasted rollers, yellow-collared lovebirds to waterbirds such as herons, kingfishers, and more. Viewing particular avian species can be unpredictable, but seeing them up close or capturing them with a camera can be a lifetime experience.
When is the best time for a birding combined with a Big Five Safari?
The best time is from the Shoulder to Green Season (November to April). During this time, migratory birds arrive, and breeding plumage is visible, especially in areas like Serengeti National Park.
What kind of mid-range accommodations are included in this safari?
Mid-range accommodations typically balance comfort, quality, and value, offering clean, en-suite rooms with comfortable bedding, free Wi-Fi, and standard amenities such as TVs, desks, and climate control.
Will I ever see a black rhino on my safari?
Yes, it is possible, but rare to spot due to their critically endangered status. They can be spotted in the Ngorongoro Crater. However, wild black rhinos are rare in Tanzania. Your best chances are in protected sanctuaries like Etosha (Namibia), Kruger (South Africa), and Ol Pejeta (Kenya).
Will I miss out on predator action if I focus on birds?
Absolutely not. Our strategic safari itinerary ensures you remain in prime predator zones during peak movement hours. Hence, sightings of both wildlife and birds can be quite common.
