Day To Day Itinerary
This trek begins at your hotel, with a 7 AM pickup. Your trek starts with a 40Km drive to the Momella gate, located at the Arusha National Park. Set at 1500 meters above sea level in the Arusha region, the park gate is a beautiful area surrounding offers picturesque views. Remember to register with the park ranger as you arrive. After being given a short safety briefing, you’re ready to begin trekking. Start off with 10 kilometers slogs through the hikers’ rain forest for 5 to 6 hours. The trek starts from the montane forest at 1500 meters, where you’ll be greeted with wildlife that inspires the true essence of your trip to Tanzania.
To get better views of the Meru Crater, make sure to enjoy your packed lunch on the way up. By mid-afternoon, you should place yourself at the Hut. Make sure at the Hut to rest beneath the stars after enjoying the warm dinner in order to accommodate to the high altitude.

Day 2 :
Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
As part of the day trip on the second day, visitors can enjoy a restful hike without guides to Miriakamba Hut, which is approximately 4 km away from the saddle hut. This height’s starting elevation is 5,800 meters and the maximum altitude of this lodge is 3,570 meters. During the hike, guests are also offered accompanied tours and are served breakfast by 9:00 AM, followed with a stroll from 9:30 until 10:00 am. During the hike through forests, guests are granted scenic viewpoints of Mt. Meru and, depending on the weather, Mt. Kilimanjaro too. What is sometimes offered is better views en route Miriakamba Hut. Your mountain guides enlighten you regarding the flora and Tanzanian culture while the porters advance with your packs. After dedication a portion of the part for the easier aspect, the guides serve hot lunch to the tourists around noon. As a sightseeing addition around the Little Meru, the guides are able to take their tourists for a hike up this mountain for additional excellent views.
After your hike, the guide will return you to Saddle Hut, where dinner is served. He will also give you a dormitory room so that you can enjoy the true feel of the great outdoors.

At 11:30 PM, you will wake up and enjoy a light meal to eat before beginning your peak ascent. You will start this trek from 12:00 AM, where you will start at Meru Summit (4,562 m/14,968 ft, also known as Socialist Peak). Afterwards, you will start your walk, and in the process meet with expert mountain guides, which will assist you during the rocky paths and slopes. This trek takes approximately 5-7 hours to complete over a distance of 4 kilometers. Headlamps will also be provided to help you traverse the slopes of volcanic ash. As you advance, you will be able to view the crater edge as well as Rhino Point (3,800 m/12,467 ft over sea level). You will also enjoy the surrounding scenery. The goal is to reach the tip by sunrise, and once you do, you will be welcomed by 360 panoramic views of Eastern Kilimanjaro and the ash cone of Meru below. After you take your pictures, you will make your way to Saddle Hut, where you will enjoy brunch and a brief rest for a few hours before continuing for 2-3 more hours of trekking to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m/ 8,248 ft) through moorland and woodlands. Dinner followed by a refreshing sleep in the hut caps this day.

After having breakfast at 7:00 AM, proceed to a 4-5 hour trek (10km) to Momella Gate1 (1500 m/4,921 ft) and you will then backtrack through the jungle. This section has great views and very good wildlife conditions for the altitude. Try to reach the gate on time in order to guarantee you some rest and lunch as well. Feel proud to receive the certificate after all, it is a remarkable achievement. Drive for one hour (40 km) in order to reach Arusha at the early afternoon.
